- Following the removal of tariffs in March 2024, Australian wine exports to China surged to A$902 million by year-end, re-establishing China as a key market for Australian producers.
- Competition in Asia is like to intensify as the impact of tariffs cause exporters to look for new markets for their products and importers seek to replace existing suppliers.
- Australia is well positioned to be a reliable trade partner for China and ASEAN as they seek new markets to import from, and their economic fundamentals remain sound to drive growth.
